Care Copilot is a UK company that builds AI to audit care records against the regulator's rules, so care teams spend less time on paperwork and more time on care. In the UK, we work with home care providers regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are now testing whether Florida's assisted living and memory care operators want the same thing for AHCA surveys.
Where did Care Copilot start?
Care Copilot started inside a home care office in England. Our co-founders, Jake Hall and Mike Jefferies, asked a simple question: what can AI do to cut the admin in a care office, so teams can spend more time with the people they care for?
Mike co-owns four Home Instead home care franchises in England and offered his own offices as the first place to try it. Jake, a software architect and AI engineer who previously worked on AI transformation projects as a technology consultant at EY, leads the AI and engineering.
What began as a checker for visit logs grew into an auditing platform for care plans, needs assessments, medication records and full client files. Care Copilot now works with more than 100 home care businesses across the UK.
What does Care Copilot do in the UK?
In the UK, Care Copilot audits every client file a home care provider holds, not just a sample, against CQC standards. An AI auditor follows a playbook written by a former CQC regional head of compliance and records each issue with the exact document, page and quote. A second AI reviewer re-checks every cited source. The provider gets a rating per standard, the evidence behind each finding, the positives found, and an action plan with priorities and due dates. See how it works.
Why Florida?
Florida is changing how it regulates memory care, and many of the requirements AHCA checks in an ALF survey are documented in resident and staff files. SB 1404 created a new Memory Care Services license in 2026, and AHCA must adopt its rules by June 1, 2027. Assessments, care plans and medication records are the kind of documents our engine already reads in the UK. Staff training and screening files are newer ground for us, and part of what the Florida pilot will test.
We also know what we don't know. US assisted living is regulated differently from UK home care, and Florida's rules are their own. That is why we are starting with founding operators who can tell us where the product helps and where it falls short.
Where does Care Copilot stand in the US today?
Care Copilot is opening early access in Florida. It is not yet generally available in the US.
- Care Copilot Ltd is a UK company. We have no US entity and no US office.
- We have no US customers yet. We are recruiting a small number of founding pilot operators.
- We do not currently claim HIPAA compliance or SOC 2 certification.
- Our free readiness self-check collects no resident data.
If you run a Florida ALF or memory care community and would like to help shape the product, apply for early access, or start with the free readiness self-check.
